Kirtan College: 2019

May 18 & 19

July 27 & 28

September 28 & 29

Location TBD

Sliding Scale $180 – $360 for entire weekend

9:00-12:00: Scales and exercises

2:00-5:00: Chants

Join Allison and learn a few Indian scales and a few new chants inside that scale. This class is appropriate for those who have taken Allison’s Thursday night Harmonium classes, those who just completed Allison’s Harmonium and Sanskrit 101 course in the spring of 2019, and/or for novice harmonium players with a strong background in piano. If you’ve never studied harmonium with Allison before and are keen to join, you’ll want to schedule a private session first so that she can fill you in on learning in the traditional Indian way, or consider attending the Harmonium and Sanskrit 101 weekend.

Learning the Indian way is a super fun discipline, and an amazing neuroplasticity practice. It makes you think, and count, and use your brain in ways you may not be accustomed to.

You’ll need to bring your own harmonium. I can suggest where to purchase one, but be sure to order giving at least two weeks for it’s arrival.

Everything I’m teaching comes directly from K. Sridhar, I’m eternally grateful for his patience with me and his care in teaching me what I need to know in the right moment. Without his guidance I’d have nothing to share with you.

All of the chants taught will be original compositions. Occasionally I teach chants from the Sivananda lineage.

You may attend only the first day, but not only the second day.
